Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto Jade Raymond offered up her thoughts that future game design will be done with community engagement in mind during an one-on-one South by Southwest Gaming Expo talk with Spike TV’s Geoff Keighley Sunday, March 9. Raymond stated she expect even single player game design will be done with the thought, in an age of streaming channels, of ways of engaging the player as actor in such streams and they being ways for the community to engage with others in this format. She also explained why she initially turned down offer to lead Ubisoft Toronto, what she hopes will be the reputation of the studio, touched on the issues in creating games with a transmedia plan, as well as answered audience questions concerning managing such a large studio and the value of diversity on a team.
