With the largest event in gaming just around the corner, I figured now would be as good a time as any to get my E3 predictions out.

Here’s what I think will happen with the three big wigs of the video game industry.

Nintendo:

  1. Nintendo will unveil their new hardware for emerging markets, it will be an ultra cheap, lightweight, cell phone-like-device that will help users keep count of their calorie intake, steps walked in a day and exercise routines. It will all be framed within a game like system that gives users points based on how well they stick to their schedule. It will cost $99.99.
  2. NFC figurines will play a big part of their upcoming strategies, with Wii U bundles announced.
  3. An HD version of Zelda is announced with proper gameplay footage.
  4. Super Smash Bros. is out in force for both the Wii U and 3DS, two new playable characters are announced.
  5. A new version of Metroid is finally announced, hopefully it’s a 2D side scroller for the 3DS.

Microsoft:

  1. We get to see our first gameplay of Halo 5.
  2. Microsoft talks about the Halo tv show.
  3. They address the Kinectless Xbox One and tell gamers they listened to their pleas.
  4. The newest chapter in the Gears of War universe is announced.
  5. Halo 2: Anniversary is announced and given a release date.

Sony:

  1. Sony tries to alleviate fears about the direction of the new Uncharted game by having gameplay shown and focusing on the team currently working on it.
  2. The Last Guardian is not present. It is dead and will never come out.
  3. Bungie will show more Destiny gameplay and emphasize all the extra content coming to PS4.
  4. PS4 announces a price cut to combat Microsoft’s decision to drop the Kinect. Shots will be fired from both companies and it will be like watching a WWE shouting match.
  5. Sony will try to rally the troops for the Vita, but will receive much skepticism and bored looks from the audience.

And there you have it, my 2014 E3 predictions! It’s time for the world to let go of The Last Guardian and let her rest in peace.
