Man Mo Temple

Although not an exact reproduction, Shenmue’s Man Mo Temple does give you a sense of what the real-life area is like. There is no back garden, for instance, and instead of pretty, tall martial artists, it was primarily occupied by a few middle-aged ladies, tourists, and some men in their 30s. For being set in the “Mid-Levels,” the area surrounding the temple is exceptionally hilly, with a system of walkways and escalators. And similar to the game’s version, the immediate area is known for its pottery and antiques.

Scarlet Hills.

Man Mo Temple!

Man sweeping outside … hmmmm, familiar.
