Coolan, a startup that developed software for analyzing data about data center hardware, today announced that it has been acquired by Salesforce. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

It was not long ago that Coolan launched. It was headed up by Amir Michael, who once led the team at Facebook responsible for designing and deploying the company’s custom servers. Michael also cofounded the Facebook-led Open Compute Project. Now Michael and his team at Coolan have joined Salesforce, which operates data centers and increasingly relies on cloud infrastructure.

“Once the transaction has closed, the Coolan team will help Salesforce optimize its infrastructure as it scales to support customer growth around the world,” Michael wrote in a blog post. “I will continue my work with the Open Compute Project (OCP) to further its mission of making hardware open, efficient and scalable.”

Salesforce has been involved in the Open Compute Project but is not currently listed as a member on the organization’s website.
