Facebook today launched Public Content Solutions (PCS), an initiative which offers support to select partners which use Facebook’s APIs.

While the APIs involved aren’t new, this is the first time Facebook is offering technical support for partners interested in the Instagram API, the Public Feed API, and the Keyword Insights API. Companies participating in the PCS program will receive “dedicated technical and business resources” from Facebook, partner engineer manager Bob Morgan wrote in an announcement about the program.

Facebook will give participants such as Arktan, SnappyTV, Tagboard, and Vizrt an official badge to show off, too, Morgan wrote. Applications from participating companies include social media monitoring tools, polling systems, visualizations of social conversations, and video-sharing platforms.

Now that Facebook is willing to put more effort into its relationships with companies that use Facebook’s rich social data, more companies might feel confident about getting involved — which could pay off for Facebook.
