Facebook says it has improved the way we embed public videos and posts from the social network. The company has released an API that now gives developers support for embedding video players into their applications and websites. The move comes nine months after Facebook unveiled a way for users to share content onto third-party sites.
With this new API, developers can customize the video player to showcase videos in a manner that works for their app, rather than be beholden to Facebook’s standard. Other features that can be added include enabling autoplay, managing the volume, creating playlists, running event and error handling, and more. Developers can also opt to show synchronized view counts.

The company wrote that the record label utilized a “fully customized version of the Facebook embed using the Facebook chromeless player.” As part of that development work, Interscope Records added links for fans to purchase concert tickets, share it to their Facebook or Instagram pages, and subscribe for more info about the artist.
