GitLab now lets you create multiple Issue Boards for each project

GitLab has released an update to its Trello-like product that now gives developers more flexibility when it comes to managing their products. With GitLab’s version 8.13 update, multiple Issue Boards can be created for a single project within GitLab’s Enterprise Edition, meaning that developers can have workspace to track any problems and notes for designers, front-end developers, those on the user experience team, and more.

Launched in August, GitLab’s Issue Boards tool is a visual interface through which team members can track the status of their projects. It takes existing issues from team repositories and automatically drops them in, using labels that have previously been applied. At launch, developers could add unlimited lists to an Issue Board but were limited to just one workspace, though the company promised that unlimited boards would be coming in the future.

It’s exactly two months later, and GitLab has followed through on its promise.

The Issue Boards provide an aesthetically pleasing visual representation of what’s going on in a project and make it easy to see what the team still needs to resolve in order to get its code out to market. It’s GitLab’s version of Microsoft Planner, Asana, Wrike, and Trello.

Other updates being made to the product include a quicker way to add new issues to a list — by simply tapping on a button. (The company said that this feature will “immediately be labeled correctly.”) GitLab’s conflict resolution tool has also been expanded with this release so that corrections with any conflicts around data merging can be made right within GitLab and no longer require developers to leave the browser.
