This app lets you watch YouTube on Google Glass

Google Glass Explorer and developer (and Garmin employee) James Betker has just released a new bit of interesting Glassware for all you Glassholes: YouTube for Glass.

We’re sure Google has something similar in the works, but in the meantime, Betker put together and open-sourced this app for our collective enjoyment and entertainment.

“The videos are taken from a YouTube feed and placed directly on your timeline, and you need only click on the video card that you want to watch and press “View Video” to get some video action rolling,” the dev wrote yesterday on his blog.

You can download the .zip file (you’ll need to use ADB, Betker says) or get the source on GitHub.

To manage what videos get sent to your Glass, you simply set the youtubeFeed to the feed URL you want, such as your personal YouTube channel subscriptions feed.

Here’s what it looks like:

One tip for potential users from Betker: “Once you have installed the app, you should see a new card on your timeline that tells you what YouTube feed is being pulled and how often it is being pulled. This is the controller card, you can use it to stop the feed whenever you want. When you stop the feed, the controller card is pinned to the front of your timeline. You can then use this to start your feed back up. I recommend that you do not delete this card as it will be very difficult to start the feed up if you do.”
