The Nest learning thermostats aren’t the only smart device for the home available in Apple Stores. The retail chain will soon begin selling Philips’ ‘Hue’ LED light bulb kits, which let you control the color of light in your rooms from your smart device.

And much like Philips’ initial “Earth Day” bulb, the Hue bulbs use just 8.5 watts and are considered energy-efficient, offering brightness comparable to a traditional 60 watt bulb.
The kit contains three Hue bulbs, and you can purchase additional bulbs for $60. Kit owners can also download an iOS app that allows them to customize the brightness, color, and “mood” of their lights using their iPhone or iPad. If you’re as particular about lighting as I am when you work, this is a pretty cool setup.
