Pixelpipe brings in $2.3M for social network photo sharing: The developer of a web gateway for sharing images, videos and other content has raised a first round of equity funding, according to a filing with the SEC. The San Francisco-based startup has created tools that allow users to distribute content to more than 100 social networks, photo-sharing sites and blogs at once.

Evolv gets $15.7M for employee recruiting tool: The San Francisco-based company has raised a new round of equity funding for its web-based product, according to a filing with the SEC. The company, which previously raised $8.25M from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Khosla Ventures in 2009, helps clients make profitable hiring decisions using a science-based approach. Evolv On-Demand was started in 2006 when its founders became frustrated with existing hiring methods.

Big Switch Networks raises $13.8M for enterprise virtualization: The company, which is bringing virtualization and cloud architecture to enterprise networks, has raised a first round of funding led by Index Ventures and Khosla Ventures. The Palo Alto-based company, co-founded by a former faculty member at Stanford, also recently announced plans to join the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), a newly formed nonprofit organization promoting OpenFlow and other Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies in an effort to increase the speed of innovation.
