Sonos scores $135M for wireless speakers

Ooyala raises $35M to bring broadcast TV online

Nutmeg gets $3.5 million to invest your money
London-based investment management service Nutmeg has raised $5.3 million in funding. Still in private beta, Nutmeg promises to help you reach your financial goals with personalized investments and long-term savings advice. Venture capitalists Pentech and Daniel Aegerter led the round, with participation from Tim Draper and Klaus Hommels. MemSQL speeds up databases with new funding
Database optimization startup MemSQL has raised a $5 million round of funding in total. The follow-on seed round, announced today, came from First Round Capital, IA Ventures, NEA, SV Angel, Y Combinator, Paul Buchheit, Ashton Kutcher, Max Levchin, and Aaron Levie. Read the press release.
Astute Networks grabs $12M to boost the speed of virtual machines.
Astute Networks focuses on creating flash-based hardware that accelerates virtualized computing systems. The company raised a $12 million investment today from Samsung Venture Investment, Tallwood Venture Capital, Narra Venture Capital, Ayala Capital, ICCP Venture Partners, and TIFF. Calling itself the first global fund for robotics investments, Grishin Robotics launched last week from Russia’s Mail.ru Group founder Dmitry Grishin. The fund will invest in multiple sectors that focus on robotics research and development.
