Rallyhood adds $1.3M to its pot to make sure it stays unspoiled

They say too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the soup, and group organization site Rallyhood has added $1.3 million into its pot to prevent this from happening.

Coordinating various interests, goals, and personalities can be an even greater challenge than executing the perfect vichyssoise. Rallyhood strives to make the teamwork process easier by providing a suite of tools like calendars, messaging, and file sharing, to help team members collaborate and stay on track.

Chefs, students, and large organizations alike can benefit from these tools. The Austin based company has already partnered with local chapters of the Girl Scouts, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and the YMCA. This first round was led by Tom Meredith, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Meritage Capital and former SVP and CFO at Dell, Inc.

Savveo builds platform to leave no stone unturned, no ad space untouched

Advertising opportunities are everywhere and OverstockAds.com has just raised $2 million in its first round of funding to help make sure no unmarked space goes untouched.

OverstockAds.com is a portal where small businesses owners can find discounted advertising opportunities. With this latest investment, the founders will establish Savveo, Inc, which will expand upon OverstockAds.com’s offerings.

Savveo will be a marketplace that connects small business owners with advertising opportunities.The investors included Tim Biltz, the chairman of Savveo’s board of directors and the CEO of Lumos Networks; Sayoko Teitelbaum, a cofounder of Toura; Simon Clark, a senior partner at Engine UK; David Jones, the CEO of Peak 10; and BayCrest Capital, along with others. Breakthrough gets $900K to turn living room couch into psychiatrist’s couch

In 2009, a startup known as Breakthrough, announced it would make it cheap and easy for people to receive confidential counseling on the web. Three years later, with the upholding of healthcare reform, the startup has finally convinced angel investors to make a $900,000 bet that the shrink’s couch will go online.

Angel investors include PayPal Director and former eHealth executive Avery Kadison, Ash Patel and Mike Marquez of Morado Ventures, Square COO Keith Rabois, Charles River Ventures, PracticeFusion cofounder Matthew Douglass, and Invite Media cofounders Nat Turner and Zach Weinberg.
