Health Catalyst thinks that every hospital will need a data warehouse to organize and visualize its data. The bet may already paying off. The Salt Lake City-based company closed $41 million in funding today, which closely follows a $33 million round in early January. This brings its total funding amount to just shy of $100 million. Indiegogo raises $40M so anyone can fund anything (and not on Kickstarter)

Cotap grabs $10M to bring business messaging to all employees — even your barista

Cotap today announced a $10 million round of financing that’ll enable the company to roughly double its 17-person team by the end of 2014. It’s placing a major focus on engineering, with an Android app due out next month and features like cloud storage file attachments in the works, though it’ll also expand its sales and marketing efforts. Swedish startup Hansoft has closed a new $8.4 million round of funding, the company announced today. Hansoft builds tools that helps dev teams both manage and collaborate on new products using Agile software development. Read more about the deal here.

London’s GoCardless nabs $7M to help businesses accept direct debits online

GoCardless has experienced rapid growth in the past few years by targeting both businesses and consumers. It now claims to be the U.K.’s largest direct debit provider, with Dwolla offering a competing service in the U.S. Off the back of this expansion, it has closed $7 million in funding from some of Europe’s most prominent venture capital firms. MobSoc Media raises $5M round

Content aggregation startup MobSoc Media has closed a new $5 million round of funding today. The company specializes in building tools that will help surface the best content within a particular news genre while also providing social media ranking. Read more about the deal here.

GutCheck lets you bounce business ideas off potential customers with $4M

Gutcheck hopes to save you from your own bad company ideas before you get so deep in debt you’re wondering why bacon-flavored hand sanitizer. The company raised $4 million in an addition to its June second round of funding, which, weirdly, also totaled at $4 million. Gutcheck lets you do just that. It gives Regular Joe Entrepreneur access to a market research community on which he can test out his ideas and decide if they have potential. Icon Venture Partners led the round with participation from existing investors GroTech Ventures, Highway 12, Village Ventures, and Crawley Ventures.

Transfluent nets $2M

Translation startup Transfluent has raised a new $2 million round of funding, the company announced today. The startup provides a language translation service for social networks and other applications. Read more about the deal here.

Web comics startup Tapastic grabs $2M

Tapastic, which runs a community service for fans and creators of web comics, has just raised $2 million in a series A round of funding. The company also announced a strategic partnership with South Korean web portal Daum Communications. Read more about the deal here.

Vint grabs $1.8M for its athlete pairing service

Stockholm, Sweden-based startup Vint has raised a fresh $1.8 million in new funding today. The company produces an app that helps qualified athletes match up with others who are in need of coaching, inspiration, or guidance in their own athletic pursuits. Read more about Vint here.

Voxeet gets $1.5M for better voice conference calling

Voxeet thinks conference calls, as they stand, suck. The company has created what it calls a “3D HD” call quality because of its background-noise cancelling technology. It received $1.5 million in funding today — it’s first seed round. Partech Ventures led the round with participation from Aquiti, Kima Ventures, and other angel investors. Voxeet was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in San Francisco, Calif.

Epic grabs $1.4M to get more children reading

Reading may be a wonderful way to learn, grow, explore, and expand the mind, but try telling that to kids. Epic provides an all-you-can-read eBook subscription service for kids 12 and under.
