FarmLogs grabs $10M to help farmers harness web tools and big data
Reimagining the human diet is pretty useless unless we address how we grow and harvest food, something Y Combinator-backed FarmLogsknows all about. The two-year-old startup provides farmers with web and mobile apps to help them better track and understand their operations, and today it’s announcing it has raised $10 million in new funding, less than a year after its last round.
Security firm Edgewave nabs $8M to help smaller businesses track threats
Cyber security firm Edgewave, has raised another $2 million in funding, bringing its total Series A round to $8 million. Edgewave brings cloud-based threat analysis to small and medium businesses that traditionally can’t afford to hire it’s own security analysts. In addition to providing threat intelligence, Edgewave’s software integrates with firewall security. The company also offers email and web security services called ePrism and iPrism respectively. Among the 6,000 clients the company services, a majority are healthcare providers, financial services, or telecommunication firms, although the company is seeing increasing interest from retailers.

Mavrck, a startup helping brands increase their sales through social media, announced it has raised $2.5 million in new funding from GrandBanks Capital.

Truly Wireless launches with $1.4M to kill your pricey business phone line
Truly Wireless, a startup striving to put an end to traditional business phone systems, today launched out of beta with $1.4 million in funding led by Index Ventures, Greylock Partners, and Boldstart Ventures. Truly aims to shake up the way traditional business lines work, but instead of pushing VOIP (voice over IP), the company has developed a system which enables employees to use their cell phones.
