Onetwotrip takes off into Russian startup space

Russian travel site Onetwotrip is stowing away another $16 million in investment. OneTwoTrip is an online airline ticket booking site where users can search for flights, see offers, look at ratings, and select the flight that is right for them. It is like a Russian version of sites like Kayak, Orbitz, or Expedia.

According to the tip from Russian tech blog Quintura, this round of funding came from Atomico, a venture capital firm started by a founder of Skype. It is an international firm with a majority of its portfolio companies residing in Europe. Onetwotrip just raised $9 million from Russian firm Phenomenon Ventures in September.

Travel is a hot space for Russian startups, with the largest online market in Europe and a travel market that is taking off. This $16 million is one of the biggest investments in a Russian internet startup this year.
