With Kloudless recently closing a successful seed round, Plug and Play EXPO winners from the past year have now raised over $30 million. That number is set to grow as Plug and Play Tech Center has locked in the next batch of 30 startup companies slated to present at Fall EXPO on Sept. 13th in Sunnyvale, Calif.
Among the 30 startups are 15 from Startup Camp, a group of young companies getting a deep-dive acceleration from Plug and Play. These startups look to build on the success of past EXPO winners like Wevideo and Credit Sesame which have each raised more than $19 million. Skytree, OfferUp, Music Prodigy, JetLore, MindSumo, Mozio, Gizmo and Kloudless are also all recent winners that have raised about $1 million each.
MindSumo CEO Keaton Swett said his EXPO experience was the foundation for his company’s growth. Along with exposure to investors, Swett was connected with new corporate customers. “It enabled us not only to present the progress we’d made to companies but also to network with other great companies and an impressive list of judges from the Valley,” he said. “It acted as a showcase and also a networking event.”
