Rocket Internet’s latest clone: An on-demand home cleaning service very reminiscent of the Y Combinator-backed Homejoy.

Helpling, the German-based startup, is only eight months-old, yet announced today that it has already raised $17 million in new funding. (See our Helpling profile here.)

Just like its American counterparts, Homejoy and the Handy-acquired Exec, Helpling enables customers to book and pay for a home cleaning right from its mobile app. Customers enter their location and cleaning requirements before making an appointment, enabling them to get a price quote immediately. Helpling then dispatches cleaners to the customer’s home.

Since launching in Berlin, Germany at the end of March 2014, Helpling has expanded to 150 cities in eight countries in Europe, Latin America, and Australia.

Helpling raised its new funding from Mangrove Capital Partners, Phenomen Ventures, Point Nine Capital, and Lukasz Gadowski, among others. It will use the funding to continue expanding into new markets.

Helpling was founded in 2014 by Benedikt Franke and Philip Huffmann. The startup was incubated by Rocket Internet, a German vehicle that has spawned countless e-commerce companies around the world, and recently went public earlier this fall.
