Salesforce execs get $1.65M for mobile startup m>PATH

Two uber-nerds from Salesforce have founded and received funding for a new venture called m>PATH.

This startup, which will make an end-to-end mobile infrastructure product for business and IT workers, is backed by Jump Capital, the investment fund run by Akamai co-founder Randall Kaplan. The funding will be used primarily for hiring — particularly for development and engineering positions.

m>PATH is led by former Salesforce CIO Claus Moldt and former Salesforce CTO Trae Chancellor. The pair say that while they are not yet ready to launch their product, m>PATH is already working with a small roster of Fortune 500 companies and is aiming for more enterprise-level customers.

“The more we speak with companies and individuals, the more we realize the pressures they are facing in developing the right mobile strategies, especially as mobile becomes a strategic customer engagement channel,” said Chancellor in a statement on the news.

“There is a definitive need for the customer-enhancing technologies that m›PATH is developing. Every week, we receive new inquiries from large enterprise customers who are excited about what we’re building and how our solution improves their productivity, efficiency, and interaction with their customers.”

m>PATH was founded in late 2013 and is based in downtown Palo Alto, Calif., with offices in San Francisco.
