Some gamers became worried when online multiplayer-service GameSpy announced its impending closure. A lot of older games depended on the tool for online matchmaking.
Now, publisher 2K has revealed a list of games that it’ll migrate to Steamworks for future online support, specifically the original Borderlands and some older Civilizations. The transition will start on May 31 and will only cause a temporary disruption in online support. The full list is below:
- Borderlands (PC)
- Civilization III
- Civilization III: Conquests
- Civilization III: Play the World
- Civilization IV
- Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword
- Civilization IV: Colonization
- Civilization IV: Warlords
2K also released a list of games that’ll lose online support come May 31:

- Jetfighter V: Homeland Protector (PC)
