The company unveiled a special GTA V bundle that is due out along with the game later this year this evening at its pre-Electronic Entertainment Expo press briefing.
The $300 bundle will come with the PS3 console, the game, and a GTA V-branded headset. It is due out sometime after the game’s Sept. 17 release.
Grand Theft Auto 3 debuted on the PlayStation 2 in 2001. That game and that system formed a symbiotic relationship that led to both selling huge amounts of games and consoles. For years following that release, the franchise was a known as a PlayStation game. GTA developer Rockstar diluted that perception with GTA IV when it simultaneously launched that game on Xbox 360.
Grand Theft Auto V is also due out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on the same day, but this bundle might convince gamers that Sony’s console is once again the best place to play Grand Theft Auto V.
