Angry Birds 2: Angrier Birds. OK, that’s not actually the title, but isn’t that a missed opportunity?

Anyway, mobile developer Rovio has released Angry Birds 2 worldwide on iOS and Android today. The original Angry Birds and its spinoffs, including Star Wars and Transformers tie-ins, have gathered more than 3 billion downloads since December 2009, according to Rovio.

Angry Birds 2 retains the bird-flinging gameplay of its predecessor, but it adds new spells and a new character (Silver, a bird raised in Pig captivity). It also has a visual upgrade that you can see in the gameplayer trailer below.

Angry Birds 2 is free-to-play. You can use real money to buy gems that can earn you extra birds and lives.
