LOS ANGELES — Nintendo announced a new Animal Crossing game for Wii U today during its digital event. However, it’s not what you were expecting.

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is a digital board game, similar to Nintendo’s Mario Party series. You can use Animal Crossing Amiibos, Nintendo’s brand of toys that can connect to its games, as your player.

Nintendo also showed more of a new 3DS Animal Crossing, called Happy Home Designer.

Amiibo Festival comes out during the 2015 holiday season.
