Nintendo announced the newest Pokémon game for its 3DS handheld today. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity — more a roguelike than a regular role-playing game like this year’s Black 2 and White 2 — releases on March 24 and features more than 20 randomized, continuously changing dungeons.

Players can turn into one of five fan-favorite monsters: Pikachu, Snivy, Oshawott, Tepig, or Axew. From there, you can befriend or battle other Pokémon and discover treasure, all moving to a different location every time you enter the dungeon. The number of floors and type of terrain also change when you reenter an area.

Additionally, you can access dungeons called “Magnagates” by scanning circular objects in the real world with the 3DS’s built-in camera, which should provide some post-game content for players who want the adventure to continue.

Gates to Infinity introduces four-player wireless multiplayer to the series, according to the Pokémon website. You can play as any member of your team this way, not just your main character.

This is the first Mystery Dungeon game to release since Explorers of Sky came to the DS in 2009. The series began in 2006. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity will be available in stores and on the 3DS eShop.
