Assassin's Creed III

Assassin’s Creed story goes something like this: A future man is having issues with some secret people and he goes into the past to live in his ancestor to find something and Veronica Mars happens … right? I feel like I missed some of the finer details.

Thankfully, developer and publisher Ubisoft updated its Assassin’s Creed Encyclopedia, and Amazon has a special deal to help fans get their mitts on it.

This second edition of the franchise’s definitive tome guides fans new and old through the convoluted plot and many characters up to and including Assassin’s Creed III.

Ubisoft is selling the book on its web store for $49.95, but Amazon’s deal saves you about $10 (it’s also Amazon Prime-eligible).

For $99.99, fans can preorder Assassin’s Creed III: Encyclopedia Edition for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It comes bundled with the Assassin’s Creed Encyclopedia 2nd Edition hardcover book and the Assassin’s Creed: Subject 4 graphic novel.

This Amazon version also includes exclusive unlockables for the single-player campaign: the Boarding Axe weapon and The Captain Of The Aquila character. Amazon will ship this item in time for Assassin’s Creed III’s Oct. 30 release date. Buying the book and game separately (not even considering the graphic novel) would cost players about $110, so this $99.99 special collection price will save you about $10.

Assassin’s Creed III is the latest game in Ubisoft’s assassin series. It follows present-day protagonist Desmond Miles and his ancestor, Connor Kenway, a half-British, half-Mohawk Indian man who lives in Revolutionary War-era America. During the story, Kenway comes across many of that historical period’s best-known figures.
