Street Fighter V is getting a bunch of new (and needed) content.
Capcom revealed today that Balrog joins Street Fighter V’s roster when the Story Mode update launches on July 1. The fighting game originally came out on PlayStation 4 and PC on February 16. When Street Fighter V launched, fans complained that it didn’t have enough content. The free Story Mode update could appease those players, and adding new characters like Balrog can keep them engaged and bring back bored owners. Capcom previously revealed that Ibuki, who first appeared in Street Fighter III, will also join the roster along with the Story Mode update.
Balrog originally appeared in Street Fighter II. He’s a U.S. boxer that focuses on punches for his moveset.
To unlock Balrog and Ibuki, you need to either spend in-game or real money. The same goes for all characters that came out after the game’s release, specifically Alex and Guile.
Capcom is also launching new stages on July 1, including a new version of the Las Vegas level from Street Fighter II and a beach-themed arena, The Kanzuki Family Private Beach
The trailer also reveals that Juri and Uriel are coming to Street Fighter V’s roster. Both will be playable in the Story Mode, although they don’t have a date for an official release. Uriel debuted in Street Fighter III, while Juri first appeared in Super Street Fighter IV.
