During Electronic Arts‘ press conference today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, EA chief operating officer Peter Moore and DICE executive producer Patrick Bach talked about Battlefield 3’s impressive player count and unveiled Battlefield 3 Premium, a collection of map packs, exclusive items, and customization options.
“With 1.6 trillion bullets fired, Battlefield 3 has over 15 million players worldwide,” Moore said. This is a staggering lead and soldier count since the massive military shooter’s launch on October 25, 2011.
As for Premium, players trade $50 for a “truly amazing amount” of extra content. In addition to guaranteeing a two-week early access to all upcoming map packs, Premium includes stat resets, unique knives and dog tags, exclusive events, and server queue priority.
PlayStation 3 Premium purchasers also immediately deploy into Close Quarters, BF3’s newest map pack. PC and Xbox 360 gamers follow suit one week later.
