Developer Blizzard’s online infrastructure is experiencing some connectivity problems today.
Battle.net, the service that acts as the online backbone for all Blizzard games, isn’t working properly at the moment. If you try to boot up the service, you’ll see an error when the program tries to connect online. This preventing players from enjoying games like Diablo III, World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.

This isn’t only affecting Blizzard’s PC games that run directly through the Battle.net interface. Hearthstone on mobile and tablets is also not working at the moment.
Booting up the card battler on your Android or iOS device will give you the following warning:
“There’s an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in slow or failed login attempts. We’re investigating the cause, and we’ll provide updates as they are available. thanks for your patience.”
All of Blizzards current games run through the company’s proprietary authentication servers. This is true even if you wanted to play a campaign of Diablo III by yourself. It has no offline mode, which means that players can get locked out of these games when the Blizzard backend runs into trouble.
