It’s raining Hearthstone cards, at least in Europe.
European Hearthstone:Heroes of Warcraft players experienced connection issues last week, and publisher Blizzard is saying sorry by gifting them all two packs of virtual cards. The online card-battler is now one of Blizzard’s hottest properties, spanning multiple devices and generating revenue of around $155,000 every day. It’s currently one of the top-10 grossing apps for iPhone in 16 different countries. Having players that can’t get into the always-online game isn’t great customer service, but Blizzard’s hoping the cards are a decent enough apology.

“As a thank you for bearing with us, all Hearthstone accounts in the European Hearthstone region created prior to May 3, 2015 will enjoy two free Classic Hearthstone card packs, free of charge.”
Players can earn these card packs through playing the game, but it can feel like a bit of a grind at times. They’re also available to buy for $1.50 — or cheaper if you’re buying in bulk — so Blizzard’s essentially gifted its European players $3 worth of virtual goods each.
You’ll find the card packs in the “Open Packs” section of the game, and they don’t expire. It may take awhile for them to appear in every eligible account.
I just opened mine, and I didn’t get anything too exciting. Still, free cards are free cards.
