We’re only a week away from another Call of Duty game from developer Infinity Ward. This time around, the studio is introducing a new four-player co-op mode that looks similar to Black Ops II developer Treyarch’s Zombies.

The mode is Extinction, and it takes place in a grim world where the military is trying to fight off deadly creatures. These enemies look similar to the xenomorph creatures from the sci-fi Alien films. In fact, the whole mode looks like Infinity Ward took a lot of inspiration from director James Cameron’s Aliens sequel, where a group of space marines defended an off-world colony from a herd of aliens.

Extinction has one-to-four players fighting off waves of quadrupedal monsters. Gamers must defend their base, scavenge for supplies, and level up their character’s capabilities. It looks like it plays a lot like Treyarch’s Zombies but with marines gunning down giant scaly reptiles instead of the undead.

Activision released the following trailer for Extinction:

Call of Duty: Ghosts launches Nov. 5 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC. It will also make the jump to next gen when Sony launches the PlayStation 4 on Nov. 15 and Microsoft debuts the Xbox One on Nov. 22. The game will retail for $60. As usual, it will also feature a new campaign that follows a group of special-operations forces as they try to save the world.
