Perennial hit shooter Call of Duty is about to begin a new chapter in its long-running legacy, and publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward are celebrating its impending launch with a new gameplay trailer that shows off some of its most exciting moments.

The different clips show a jet crashing on an aircraft carrier, Riley the combat dog staring down a pack of wolves, and some spec-op troops swimming with a shark. The modern-military shooter launches Nov. 5 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It also debuts for PlayStation 4 on Nov. 15 and Xbox One on Nov. 22 when those systems finally hit retail.

The coolest part of Ghosts’ launch trailer comes right at the end when an explosion in a space station flings a handful of astronauts out into the exposed vacuum. It ends with the player character reaching out and attempting to save one of the other astronauts before the breach sucks her into nothingness.

Check it out below:

It all looks a lot like Alfonso Cuarón’s sci-fi blockbuster Gravity, which has Sandra Bullock starring as an astronaut struggling to survive in space following a series of fatal accidents. That film is a major hit. Its opening weekend set a record for October releases, and it just spent its third straight week atop the box-office charts.

We’ve reached out to Activision and Infinity Ward to see if the success of Gravity encouraged them to emphasize the space scenes from their anticipated shooter. We’ll update with any comment they provide.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is a fresh start for the franchise. It features new characters in a new world. Infinity Ward also claims it is using an updated graphics engine to spruce up the title’s visuals on both current- and next-gen systems. Infinity Ward previously handled the Modern Warfare sub-series, while Activision studio Treyarch produced World at War followed by Black Ops and Black Ops II.
