Today, Taiwanese cloud-gaming firm Ubitus revealed that it closed a $15 million funding round. The company plans to use the cash to spearhead further expansion of its game-streaming technology.

“We are delighted that leading investors like Samsung Ventures shares Ubitus’ conviction that making video games playing as accessible as the movie and music streaming services nowadays can forever change the way people enjoy games in the past 20 years,” Ubitus chief executive Wesley Kuo said in a statement.

Samsung Ventures, the investment wing of the consumer-electronics giant, led this round of funding for Ubitus. The two companies will work together to incorporate cloud-gaming into future Samsung televisions.

Ubitus plans to introduce a new cloud-gaming experience focused on social features in the third quarter of this year.
