The publisher announced that it’s releasing the Artorias of the Abyss content for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 23. It’s the same extra content in Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for the PC. This downloadable content includes new weapons, armor, areas, and bosses for the notoriously difficult role-playing combat game.

Artorias of the Abyss is still set in the world of Lordran. An evil from the forests of Oolacile threatens the rest of the kingdom. It’s up to the player to fight back the encroaching darkness.

In addition to the extra content, this DLC enhances the game’s player-versus-player component. Namco claims it has improved the match-making, so the game should quickly pair you up with an opponent.

Dark Souls is an action open-world dungeon-crawling game that its fans adore for its engrossing atmosphere and punishing gameplay. Namco Bandai released it in late 2011 for Microsoft’s and Sony’s respective consoles. In August, the company released the Prepare to Die Edition of Dark Souls on PC.
