Unfortunately, modding will not be a part of Dark Souls on PC. FromSoftware confirmed that the game is a direct port from home consoles and will likely still use gamepad support rather than a keyboard. PC players will have access to the new content before other players, but will not get features that many fans were hoping for. The game will, however, include an enhanced player-vs-player mode that makes it easier for players to organize battles against each other.
Namco, the game’s publisher, revealed that Dark Souls will be available on the PC digital distribution platform Steam, which finally addressed the rumors that it would be a Games for Windows Live exclusive.
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition goes on sale August 24.
