You’re not going to believe this, but apparently they have zombies in games now.
One of those releases, Dead Rising 3, is finding a lot of success. Developer Capcom revealed that it has shipped over 1 million copies of zombie-stomping action title to retailers around the world. While that doesn’t necessarily mean it has sold 1 million units through to consumers, it is a large number for a game that is exclusive to the brand-new Xbox One console from Microsoft.

Dead Rising 3 debuted on Nov. 22 alongside the Xbox One in North America, Europe, and handful of other markets. Capcom noted that, like the previous entries in the series, Dead Rising 3 is performing well around the world. Microsoft, which published the undead-killing simulator, is increasing shipments to keep up with that demand.
Capcom launched the first episode of Dead Rising 3’s additional downloadable content yesterday. Operation Broken Eagle will take players through a story that builds on the events of the main narrative. A 13GB update preceded the launch of that expansion and is required for anyone who wants to continue playing the game online whether or not they plan to purchase the DLC.
Dead Rising first debuted for Xbox 360 on Aug. 8. It locked players in a mall and forced them to use their surroundings to escape the zombie hordes. Capcom published that title and followed it up with Dead Rising 2 in September 2010. This time, the game had players fighting through waves of the walking dead while in Las Vegas.
The Dead Rising series has crossed more than 7 million in sales since its debut. Only Dead Rising 2 appeared on something other than an Xbox platform. It was also available for PC and PlayStation 3.
