If you’re stopped playing, it might be your Destiny to come back today.

The 2.0 update will come out before the day’s end to Bungie’s online multiplayer shooter. The massive 17 GB patch adds new features and gameplay mechanics, almost exactly one year after the game launched on September 9, 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. While the update prepares the game for next week’s The Taken King expansion, it is free for all players.

2.0 raises the level cap for all characters to 34 (The Taken King will raise that further to 40). It also separates the character and Light level mechanics, meaning you no longer need to find and upgrade gear to increase your base level. 2.0 also adds a new Quest Tracker and increases your Bounty slots to 16.

The Taken King comes out on September 15.
