Loot and achievements are at the heart of Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo III, and now players have an expansive new way to track both from anywhere on the game’s website. Hero profiles mirror similar functionality from World of Warcraft’s Armory, allowing anyone to view a Diablo III character’s gear, stats, and skills, as well as in-game accomplishments, including the total number of monsters killed and bosses slain on each difficulty.
“We like that profiles provide for easy sharing, comparing, and refining of your heroes as you pursue monster-slaying mastery,” Blizzard wrote on the profiles announcement page. “In fact, we like profiles so much that we plan to add even more functionality to them as Diablo III evolves, including detailed statistics and tabs for achievements and artisans.”
Although character profiles have been available in-game (naturally), this new feature allows them to be accessed from the web and perhaps most importantly, enables easy examination of a friend’s characters, equipment, and stats.
