Diablo III open beta weekend begins today

Say goodbye to your weekend plans...

Diablo III Witch DoctorSay goodbye to your weekend plans. Blizzard Entertainment is holding an open beta event for Diablo III this weekend, and everyone with a valid Battle.net account is welcome to join in the demon-stomping fun.

Players will be able to log in starting today at 12:01 p.m. PST and play one of the game’s five classes up to level 13. The beta will end on Monday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. PST.

The weekend event will be a stress test of the game and servers in anticipation of its May 15 release, Blizzard says. Those wanting to participate can start downloading the client on the Battle.net website.

Unfortunately, Korean players will not be able to partake in the open beta due to “regional differences and features of the stress test client.” However, the publisher plans to hold a separate, invitation-only closed beta for those in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau who want to give the game a spin. That event will begin the week of April 23.
