A role-playing game legend is bringing some serious experience to the Divinity: Original Sin 2 team.
Larian Studios announced today that Chris Avellone has joined the studio to work on the game, which is currently funding on Kickstarter (and well passed its $500,000 goal with a total of $1,647,946 with four days of funding left). Avellone previously worked for RPG powerhouses Interplay and Obsidian, so his RPG expertise will certainly help Divinity: Original Sin II.
Fans might best know Avellone for Planescape: Torment, a computer RPG praised for its story-driven gameplay. He also worked on the Icewind Dale series, Fallout 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Knights of the Old Republic II, and Neverwinter Nights II.
Recently, he helped create Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity, another PC RPG funded on Kickstarter. He also worked on the upcoming Torment: Tides of Numenera, a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment and another Kickstarter success story.
