Nintendo unveiled Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Wii U during its Electronic Entertainment Expo Nintendo Direct stream today.

A sequel to the Nintendo Wii’s Donkey Kong Country Returns (which also recently came out on the Nintendo 3DS), Tropical Freeze is another 2D platformer featuring cooperative action. Retro, a studio best known for the Metroid Prime games and who also developed Donkey Kong Country Returns, is back for the sequel.

Tropical Freeze sees the return of Dixie Kong as a playable character. Nintendo will release the sidescroller at the end of the year.
