Downton Abbey now has its own mobile game

Not many period dramas get their own video games, but then, none are as popular as Downton Abbey.

In preparation for the sixth and final season of Downton Abbey airing in the U.K. (it starts September 20 on ITV), the TV show has gotten its own mobile game, available to download now on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Downton Abbey: Mysteries of the Manor is a free-to-play hidden object game from Activision, set in the wake of a robbery. You’ll need to explore the abbey, search for missing treasures, and ultimately discover who the thief is.

It’s quite common for TV shows to get their own mobile games — you can already play mobile spin-offs of Dancing with the Stars and CSI, for example — but Downton Abbey‘s huge global popularity and historic setting make it a noteworthy addition to this trend.

Abbey fans based in the United States will need to wait until next year to watch Downton Abbey‘s conclusion on PBS, but maybe poking and prodding about in the Crawley family’s estate will help ease the pain.
