You’re not really keeping up with the Joneses in 2015 unless your new laptop comes configured with the latest 5th gen processors from Intel. Dubbed “Broadwell”, the new CPU architecture isn’t exactly cheap, but if you’ve got some spare cash after the holiday season, hold onto your hats because there are actually a few Dell and Lenovo units with strong discounts available.

If your game of choice is mostly MOBA titles such as LOL and DOTA, most of the laptops below (sans the Core M models) will tackle the task without too much of an issue, especially with the newer Intel HD 5500 integrated GPU (benchmark for games will eventually show up here).
The sole laptop rounded up below with a discrete GPU is the Inspiron 15 7000 series laptop with a Core i7 CPU, Radeon R7 M270 GPU, and an impressive 4K Ultra HD display panel. While we doubt you can power most games at 2160p resolution, this is definitely one of the more well equipped setup available below.
Dell Broadwell Laptops
Just this week Dell announced a few new laptops to add to their lineup and refreshes of their old models with new Intel Broadwell processors. The day they announced them they became available for sale and not with bad timing for a discount either.
This week Dell also has two coupon codes running, one worth $50 off any laptop priced $599 and up and a coupon for $75 off any laptop priced $799 and up (they do not stack). Some of the new Dell machines even have instant discounts, like the brand new Dell XPS 13 base configuration for only $724.99 – quite a steal for a machine touting a 15 hour battery life.

Lenovo Broadwell Laptops
The first wave of Broadwell processors – the Core M series – became available for sale in October of last year mostly in Lenovo laptops. When the Black Friday/Holiday season commenced they dropped slightly in price, but and the sales continue at both Best Buy and Lenovo directly.
