Today The Elder Scrolls Online is going the way of Guild Wars 2 with zero dollars on the monthly subscription. Today Zenimax unveiled The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Edition. The gist of it all is they’ve added certain features, like a criminal justice system, and they’ve removed the monthly subscription requirement.

Anyone who owns a copy of the original TESO will be upgraded for free, while newcomers are welcome to join in for a one time fee of $59.99. PC gamers can skip the full admission price. Tamirel Unlimited is available with a 20% off discount via a coupon code for both the Standard and Imperial editions.

Note: Code ends on Friday, March 20th at 8am Pacific.

What’s new in the Tamriel Unlimited Edition?

As the title suggests, you get unlimited play without having to pay a monthly subscription. That said, you will have the opportunity to buy an “ESO Plus Membership” which gets you future expansions and DLCs for free, along with other perks like 1500 Crowns per 30 day membership and a +10% upgrade to your character progression.

There are other things added into the TESO 2.0 list. One notable addition is the “Crown Store”, an in-game store allowing you to buy customization and convenience items. Another integral feature is the Justice System, which allows you to steal and kill NPCs… and if you’re caught, suffer the punishment.

The Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game release on June 9th of this year. They will be identical to the PC’s “Tamriel Edition” and require no monthly fee, but you will need to be an Xbox Live or PS Plus member to join in on the action.
