Nothing is final for this series, even the demos.

Developer and publisher Square Enix announce today that an updated version of the Final Fantasy XV demo will come out in early June, as Japanese gaming site Siliconera spotted this morning. Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae 2.0 will include improvements that fans requested after the release of the original demo, which came with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March. Specifically, the new version will add changes to the action role-playing game’s camera and controls.

It’s unusual to see a demo get such a big update. Typically, demos simply give people a taste of a game in the hopes that they’ll like what they see and buy the final release. However, Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae was obviously meant to encourage feedback and criticism.

It’s nice to see these improvements coming, but it is also a bit strange how much work Final Fantasy XV still needs. Square Enix first announced it as Final Fantasy Versus XIII way back in 2006. That’s a long development cycle, and the publisher doesn’t seem afraid to still make changes.

Final Fantasy XV is for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It does not have a release date.
