Video games are infiltrating the world of high fashion.

Lightning, the star of the role-playing game Final Fantasy XIII, is modelling Louis Vuitton’s spring 2016 collection in a new ad campaign. Nicolas Ghesquière, the creative director at the French fashion house, has teamed up with video game artist and director Tetsuya Nomura — currently working on the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake — to create images and animations of Lightning sporting a range of Louis Vuitton bags and clothes.

Ghesquière revealed images and a video from the campaign, which is based on the theme of merging reality and fantasy, on his Instagram account. It’s not the first time that fashion houses have turned to Final Fantasy characters for inspiration — Prada previously teamed up with publisher Square Enix for a 2012 ad campaign — and it shows how deeply embedded video games have now become in popular culture.
