Code Name: STEAM got some improvements, but none could fix its fundamental flaws.

It’s not a new Fire Emblem. It’s not a new Advance Wars. It’s an entirely new game made specifically for the 3DS.

Nintendo announced that Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is coming to 3DS in spring. This is a steam-punk third-person strategy game where you take turns destroying enemies. Featuring a humorous style — where Abraham Lincoln himself joins in the fight — developer Intelligent Systems is obviously going for something new and fresh.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. joins Zelda: Majora’s Mask to flesh out the 3DS’s spring lineup, and it should help Nintendo’s portable get off to a strong 2015.
