The cloud gaming space is heating up as display resolutions increase.

PolyStream announced the completion of its seed investment round, led by London Venture Partners, a group that has funded other successful gaming outfits, such as Clash of Clans developer Supercell and game engine company Unity. The company did not disclose its total investment. The London-based firm will go up against established players in the cloud gaming space, such as PC streaming service OnLive and Sony Computer Entertainment-owned Gaikai.

Its leg up on the competition is a technology that allows streaming of even UltraHD (4k) resolution games across super low bandwidths. Its cloud allows for gaming on virtually any connected device with significantly reduced bandwidth requirements, and at a cost that it says is a fraction of other cloud gaming solutions.

PolyStream is currently hiring talent in both business and technology development.
