Rockstar Games doesn’t just want players stealing cars and causing mayhem on their PlayStation 3s and Xbox 360s with Grand Theft Auto V. The developer revealed today that it is porting Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, one of its most beloved games, to mobile devices.

The game is due out next month for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. Rockstar is also including controller support. That means Android, Windows Phone, and iOS7 gamers can play the game as intended. The developer is also including revamped touch controls for players who choose to use the touchscreen only.

Like GTA V, San Andreas takes place in a fictional version of California. The game takes place in 1992 and puts players in the role of Carl “CJ” Johnson as he struggles with his life in a gang. San Andreas is known for its wacky humor as well its massive scale.

Rockstar previously released Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on mobile devices. Both of those games supported physical controllers on Android but not on iOS. We’ve reached out to Rockstar to ask if it plans to patch in physical controls into its other ports.
