GSN Games spins out a new Wheel of Fortune social casino game

GSN Games is spinning the wheel again. The San Francisco-based company is announcing the launch of Wheel of Fortune Slots: The Ultimate Collection today on Google Play.

The new app features Wheel of Fortune TV show co-host Vanna White, and it offers players a chance to win up to $100,000 in cash prizes in daily sweepstakes events. Social casino games aren’t as red hot as they once were, but the category is still a big market, with $951 million in revenues in the second quarter, up 15.7 percent from a year earlier, according to market analyst firm Eilers & Krejcik Gaming. GSN has an estimated $45 million quarterly revenue in the sector, making it seventh among the largest social casino companies.

The new mobile app brings together a wide variety of Wheel of Fortune-themed slots games and authentic elements from the TV show, including video scenes featuring White as the in-game host.

The app boasts several distinctively themed Wheel of Fortune slot machines, with many more slots games to be added each month. Players can travel to an island paradise in Tropics, experience larger-than-life casino thrills in Vegas Edition, or spin the reels alongside the vibrant hostess in Vanna Glamour Edition. Players can also customize their Wheel with upgradeable wedges and Boost Tags for bigger prizes. A rich feature-set including unlockable slot machines, boosts, gifting and a huge multi-level progressive jackpot rounds out the thrills of authentic casino slots action.

Players have the chance to be instantly rewarded with $5 or $100 gift cards from leading retailers or cash prizes of $5,000 or $100,000 through the Ultimate Scratcher daily sweepstakes. Each day players log into the app, they receive an Ultimate Scratcher and must match three symbols to win from one of the four prize tiers.

The development team was led by Stuart Lewis-Smith, senior vice president and general manager at GSN Games and the former CEO of Idle Gaming.
