Big Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft news is coming.
Blizzard has released the schedule for its yearly fan event, Blizzcon, which takes place November 4 and November 5 in Anaheim, California. Of special interest to Hearthstone fans, Blizzard is holding a “What’s Next” panel on Blizzcon’s main stage at 12:30 p.m. Pacific on November 4. This will give fans of the free-to-play game, which has over 40 million registered players, a look into the PC and mobile hit’s future.

Expansions and Adventures (which release fewer cards but also have unique battles against computer opponents) typically release four or five months apart from each other. The last Adventure, One Night in Karazhan, came out in August, so November would be a reasonable time to expect an announcement.
However, it’s a bit unclear if a new expansion would also signal the end of the current Standard rotation. The Standard format cycles out older sets of cards. Blizzard noted before that the next rotation would begin when the first expansion comes out in 2017. But the one they announce at BlizzCon could release in 2016, meaning we’d have to wait a lot longer if Blizzard keeps its usual Adventure-Expansion-Adventure-Expansion release strategy.
