Update: It is now available for Google Play

You no longer need to lug around a tablet to join in card battles around the hearth.

Blizzard is launching its 1-on-1 digital card battler Hearthstone on iOS and Android smartphones today. It will take a while for the App Store or Google Play to update for everyone, so you may not see the game if you go searching for it. Instead, try this link for iPhone and this one for Google Play. If that still doesn’t work, you may just have to wait until later in the day for Apple to update their respective markets with the proper files.

This update comes about a year after Hearthstone first exited beta. In April 2014, it debuted on iPad, and then it hit Android tablets in December. The game is Blizzard’s first free-to-play release and its first mobile gaming app, and it is already one of the top-grossing apps on both iOS and Android. And those numbers only include in-app purchases on iPads and Android tablets. Now that is on many more devices, it should only make more money for the publisher.

The interface is a bit different to accommodate the smaller screens. Cards are on the right-hand side, not below, your hero. To play, you tap on your hand and select a card. Player hands each replace one of the interactive pieces of the playboard — but two more remain, and you can still click on those as often as you wish.

For those of you who have waited for this iteration of Hearthstone, it is exactly the same game as what you can play on PC, Mac, or tablets. It ties to your same Battle.net account, which means you can carry over all of your progress and earned cards.

To celebrate this release, Blizzard also revealed that it will give away a free classic card pack to anyone who starts and finishes a game on mobile. You can also get a second free card pack by playing on your tablet.
